Tairan Hao (b. 1998, Beijing, China) is a multimedia artist and designer whose practice encompasses time-based media, digital programming, interactivity, and installation. By deconstructing the utilitarian and participatory dimensions of technology, he explores how advancements in these fields reshape behavioral decisions, identity, and social structures on various subjects. Audience interactivity is encouraged in each work to narrate interconnections among individuals, technology, and broader societal contexts.

Hao’s work has been featured in solo shows at Beijing Today Art Museum and in group shows at venues such as the Wuhan Biennale, EFA Project Space, and Williamsburg Art & History Center. In 2020, he founded his STUDIO® project, assembling a multidisciplinary team dedicated to research and development in functional art products and public interactive installations. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between art and public accessibility, exploring new modes of interaction. The STUDIO® has received over 10 utility patents, pushing the boundaries of form, function, and social relevance in contemporary art.

Hao currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, and Philadelphia, PA. He holds a BFA from California College of the Arts and an MFA from University of Pennsylvania.
